Weekend Update

3/6/2022

Happy Weekend, y'all! Forgive this post for being a bit brief, but I wanted to at least give you a quick update and key details for this afternoon's restart.

First - if you want to watch Anna, Kristy, and their respective dog teams leap off the starting line today, be sure to get your snacks sorted, beverages handy, and take Fido out to pee before 2pm Alaska time today. The Live Stream is available on Iditarod.com (handy link in the sidebar). Anna said officials will collect her and her dogs from the truck at 2:04pm for a 2:16pm launch. Kristy will be collected from the staging area at 2:34pm for a 2:46 launch.

Second - I've exchanged several texts with the twins and spoke with them last night and again today as they "hurry up and wait" for go time in Willow. In a nutshell, everything went great for the Ceremonial start and they're keen to hit the trail in earnest.

I've got all sorts of hastily scratched notes from our conversations that I will craft into a witty and insightful blog later. Right now, I need to make a birthday dinner for a family friend and get a couple craft brews a'chillin. But I'll be back soon with all those details, more pictures, and the coveted dog team bios.

Stay tuned!
