Your Mad Blogger is squeezing in this quick post during a connection on the way back to Toronto. So please forgive the brevity (for any new readers, never fear - brevity isn’t typically my problem!). I’ll be back to my typical detail-packed updates once this pesky traveling is behind me.
While I’m covering my next miles, expect to see Kristy and Anna make only a brief stop in Finger Lake to resupply before quickly getting back on the trail. And don’t get concerned when you see them stop only a few miles later... part of this year’s plan includes a 5 hour camp just outside of the checkpoint.
The 30 mile run from Finger Lake to Rainy Pass takes teams into the Alaska Range and, ultimately, to the highest point on the trail. When they reach Rainy Pass, race mile 153, they’ll be at 3,160 feet and thinking strategy for the remaining 845 miles to Nome.
