Kristy's Kool K9s for 2014

3/3/2014

Kristy hit the trail with 16 amazing furry friends yesterday.  Unlike the identical twin mushers, though, Kristy's team is the opposite of Anna's in several respects.  She's running 11 females and only 5 males.  Averaging just shy of 3 years of age, her team is also a little younger.  Given those two facts, it is probably not too surprising that the average size of her dogs is also a bit smaller than Anna's, coming in around 47 pounds.  By way of Iditarod experience, though, they're fairly well matched with 7 of Kristy's dogs joining as Iditarod Veterans and 9 making their rookie run.
