Giving Back
We're very fortunate to have people supporting us on our way, and we're always trying to come up with ways that we can give something back to our communities, sponsors, and the race organizations that make what we do possible.
Here are a few of the ways we're "Giving Back" right now. Please check back for new events and initiatives, and feel free to contact us if you have suggestions on ways we can help.
"I Did It By Two" Race to Vaccinate
The Iditarod commemorates the 1925 race to get a life saving diphtheria vaccine to Nome, Alaska, by the only means available ~ dog sled. Today, the need to educate Alaska residents to the importance of vaccinating their children - especially in remote, rural areas - persists. During the ceremonial start of the Iditarod, our lead dogs will wear special jackets to draw attention to this need and the organization behind it.

1st Annual T200 Turkey Trot
Ok, so running a 10K foot race the day after Thanksgiving with temperatures hovering around 0 degrees F isn't everyone's idea of a good time. Good thing we're not "everyone"!! Both Anna and Kristy ran on Nov. 25, 2011 in the first annual T200 Turkey Trot, a fundraiser held by the Tustumena race organization. They even managed to take first place in the women's 10K division, crossing the finish line together after 48 minutes and 16 seconds.

We can all help with a simple CLICK.
There are a lot of websites out there that claim they will help people or animals if you, the user, take some simple action. A lot of these sites are hard to verify or are flat out scams. But we've found one that's worth visiting and worth visiting often. Please check out the Animal Rescue Site where your daily click leads to the donation of the value of 0.6 bowls of food to animals in need. That may not sound like much, but it's free for you, simple, and adds up fast! This site also provides information and links to a variety of charitable organizations around the world, wildlife and human welfare petitions seeking your support, and heartwarming stories about animals that have been rescued.
